The Raspberry Pi 2 has a bit more power and is recommended for DiscoHAT. DiscoHAT is being used by myself in our theater productions. The DMX output and the pushbuttons are optically isolated to cope with static electricity that easily builds up on stage due to long wires, hot air, plastic surfaces and nylon clothing.

The system has been in use for two plays so far and it is time to share the good things with other entertainers.
